From our Costume Playgroup Friday morning

I've re-posted the train video. Sorry for those of you who may have tried it earlier and it took FOREVER- I forgot to compress it first. I'm still getting the whole video on the blog thing down. I'll also add a transcript below of what the little man is saying, for those of you not fluent in Wilsonease.
Ambulance on the street
Helicopter, helicopter on the street
Other side of trains
Something about the train’s together
Other one
Let’s go cars
Airplane, airplane fit?
A few of the guests we were honored to have- Aunt Lauren, Big Daddy, Papa, & Nanny

I think the pose says it all- we are going to be the future owners of a muscle car.He referred to my cousin's firebird as "racecar"
Mama & Wilson in front of the girl panda

Daddy & Wilson looking at the monkeys

Wilson, my aunt Suzanne, & Daisy

Wilson introducing Big Car & Daisy- no one else can get this close to the rabbit!

Wilson shows off his talent of delicately balancing a ball on his index finger.
Truly amazing!
Time has been filled since then with several other discoveries. He has learned that if he can't get my attention by calling for "mama" he can resort to screaming "Maggie, Maggie, Maggie" from his room. He's figured out that there are other genres of music besides the "wiggle song" which he used to ask for everytime the car cranked. Now he asks for "A-lan Jack-son". We watch "Piggy" (Babe) now instead of Big Car (any of the 4 Herby movies). He says "Go Raiders" in honor of his uncle whenever he sees a football player or football game (high school, college or NFL). With all the Halloween festivities around in his world, he's picked up on all kinds of new phrases. "Spooky man" and "I not scared" or "I not scared a you spooky man" "trick or treat". I have more acorns inside my house than the two trees in the front yard can possibly produce. He's making some real progress with potty training. I actually left the house for a brief errand the other day with him in big boy pants. It was the scariest trip to ACE Hardware I've ever been on. He loves the hardware store because they have cats. So after we found what I needed, we went on a search for the cats to pet them. When he was done with that he promptly asked where the fish were. I had to explain that it was a hardware store- not a pet store. He's also making lots of progress in swimming, actually moving through the water a little.
Today, my mom and I took him to the Fair. Here are some pics from that adventure:
Petting a baby cow
Feeding a goat at the petting zoo

Riding the "Big Truck" ride with Granna
The Dump Truck Ride- what fun!

Mrs. Kendy feeding all the "baby pigeons" at Playgroup
(she made the mistake of bringing out the fruity Cheerios she brought for her baby . . . all the big boys swarmed shoveling handfuls of baby Eliza Kate's snack in their mouths!)
Mama & Wilson with Uncle John at his Pep Rally (It was Camo Day)
Swimming Lessons (hopefully I'll get a video of this on the blog soon)
Wilson playing with the lady bug xylophone from his Bee Bop Band- a favorite toy from his first birthday- it's hard to believe it's already time to start thinking about his second, my mom and I were just picking out the bug instruments yesterday!!

Actually, for some reason, unknow to me, the city decided to repair the sidewalk that is falling apart in front of our house. These guys showed up this morning, and luckily, for their sake, Wilson was home to supervise their work. I'm sure they were thrilled with our not- so- stand-offish observing and the many photo ops. They were probably thinking, "Well if I'd know I's gone get my picture taken- I'da worn the good coveralls. Sheesh!"
What goes up, must come down . . .
Does anyone remember the "Coefficient of Friction" from physical science in jr. high? I think baby blubber against plastic slide must top the scale- poor Wilson learned this the hard way!

"Dad, go get the baby oil and let's try that again!"
And here are two of my favorite boys fighting over who will sit on top of me. Those of you who know our dogs well know if you sit or lay on the floor you are a fair game as a resting spot for Tate's bum and that we blame Tate's bad manners on the fact that he was raised by Jack. I guess we'll have to blame Wilson's habit of sitting on people on the fact that he's being raised by Tate. "Exhibit A":
